I know I know it's been a year since I've posted. I needed some time to get my life together. There's been A LOT of transitions and changes to manage and my mental heath is always a priority so, I had to take a step back. Following this post I will be more consistent with my posts. So, lets get caught up!
Ya'll...these babies turned 2! "I can't believe it's been two years already," is what most people say. However, I can believe it! We've had some long days, but I can honestly say it's been fun watching them grow into these big personalities.
Moving to Dallas has been great so far. I do miss Charlotte, but Dallas is a great city. The food is good and of course the weather is great in the winter. I'm not a fan of the bugs and random coyotes, but it could always be worse, right? With moving there's always challenges. The boys had their two year check up with their third pediatrician! I don't want to fill out another piece of paperwork or transfer another record ever!
Lets skip to the biggest update. Them kids are in DAYCARE! Yasssss like I get them dressed every day and drop them off with other kids and adults for hours. It's been fun actually having to get them dressed every day in their little outfits. During Covid both me and the boys stayed in "active sleepwear." The one thing I noticed is once they were in school my body literally had me sleeping for two weeks! I had no idea how tired I was until I was able to actually rest with no baby monitor on.
It was a scary feeling at first with lots of anxiety, but once they adjusted I've seen their social skills flourish. Their need for independence requires a different type of patience, but I'm working on letting them figure things out. There are many of moments where I sit and look at them trying to figure out how to jump from the window ledge to the sofa and wonder what the entire F did I get myself into? Yet, here we are. The random kisses and hugs make up for it all.
Apparently it's time to start thinking about Pre K 3, but I'm not ready to fully commit to that emotionally just yet. There's always a next season to to start planning for. I try to be intentional about enjoying and growing in each stage without thinking about the next one too soon. I plan to jump into that rabbit hole this fall. Bola of course wants them at STEM school at 3...while I would like a more well rounded structure at this age to see what they naturally gravitate toward. Stay tuned for that experience.
Anyway, that's the very short version of some of the updates. Feel free to let me know what you all want me to write about. I'd love your suggestions!
