Listen, I like getting in peoples business just as much as the next person, but have a little cooth about yaself. At the age of 34 and being married for almost 3 years, you can guess what the #1 question is:

"Where are the churren?"

Now, we do have a 1 1/2 year old Havanese named Lola, but she’s still not a baby.

cultural side note.

Caucasian people value their pets like their kids so to them she’s a baby. Black people see dogs as dogs...the older generation still doesn’t understand why people would have dogs living IN the home.

Anyway, the point I’m making is this. Read closely and take your time with this one. Stop asking couples why they don’t have children! If we want to be petty the simple answer is “it’s none of your biznee (business). However, I know society doesn’t fathom why a seemingly nice couple that pays taxes and brunches on the weekends wouldn’t have children? Well, it’s not that simple. Every time someone asks that question, it reopens emotional trauma that we work hard to overcome every time my red bandit shows up or when another friend calls with exciting news OR when you look around and the only legacy you have right now is your dog. The issue isn’t the concern you have or even wanting to know the answer to that question. The problem is the question itself. Try a more basic approach like “do you want children?” or “it’s been three years whats next?” Vs. “when you gone give that man a baby” or “you aint pregnant yet” which are flat our offensive and may get you a response you didn’t intend from a christian like myself. So until next time when I dive deeper into this topic, stay out of my uterus.

Be kind, Be humble and Be Petty.
