NOW WE WAIT & STRESS

Writer: Balade4Balade4

The transfer was the easiest part so far, outside of maintaining a full bladder and praying you don’t pee on the doctor. Everything happened so quickly. My husband was able to come to the room and sit in a comfortable seat. Meanwhile I’m in a position I know all to well. The best part was looking at the ultrasound and watching the embryos being placed. However, I have no idea what I was looking at, but I felt like it was supposed to be a moment so I laid quietly and stared at the screen. Chile I still don’t know what I saw. My doctor was amazing. He talked me through like a yoga instructor. It’s hard to relax when your bladder is at capacity and your stomach is growling. What I was really thinking about was how I was going to b-line to the bathroom and then to breakfast!

So after your precious embryos are placed, all you can do is wait. You mean to tell me with all the technology they can’t tell me if these embryos will stick sooner than the two week wait?! I still have three more days until we know if I need to order more progesterone and body pillows or if I can use that budget to buy wine, drink wine, rinse and repeat!

The most difficult part is not jumping to conclusions. I don’t want to get excited because they may not take. On the other hand I can’t help but daydream about my life changing in a few days. It’s a constant battle to say mentally balanced. The the positive side my husband has been taking the dog out more so I can rest. I’m a realistic opportunist. I’m praying for the best, but prepared for a set back. We already have a plan if it does’ t work. The first priority is to grieve what happened and keep my mental health stable if it comes to that. Right now I feel hopeful and centered so I’ll take it. THREE MORE DAYS!!
